One of a small surviving group of Tudor joined counter tables produced within the same second quarter sixteenth-century shop. This example and its six known cognates feature varied configurations of the same elements: two, three, or four parchemin front panels; single, deeply modeled linenfold side panels; integral spandrels carved with foliage; bead molded framing members. All are of differing and remarkably small proportions, although this is both the longest and narrowest. Branded twice ‘IK’ on one stile and bottom rail. Highly patinated, reddish-brown surface with natural gloss to front and untouched back. Top and floorboard replaced.
